About IowaArk
Our Mission
IowaArks mission is to raise awareness about the evils of child trafficking and mobilize communities to action. Just as Noah’s ark was built to preserve life amidst chaos, we are building IowaArk to shelter, protect, and guide children through the rising flood of exploitation.
Our Vision
We strive for an Iowa awakened to the realities of child trafficking—where informed communities rise like an ark, built plank by plank through awareness and compassion, ready to carry every child to safety and hope.
Why “IowaArk”?
Just as Noah’s ark was a vessel of hope amidst the storm, IowaArk is our answer to a modern flood—the hidden, rising tide of child trafficking. We are building a refuge, plank by plank, with truth, faith, and action, to carry Iowa’s children to safety and restoration.
This work is personal.
Growing up in Des Moines, I witnessed the long shadow cast by the Johnny Gosch case—a young boy abducted in 1982 whose disappearance haunted the city and surrounding communities for decades. That case stuck with me, but nothing could prepare me for what came next.
My own sister was abducted from a neighborhood play area in Des Moines. By the grace of God, she was found and rescued. But the trauma of that experience changed everything for me. I began to see the world through a different lens—one where evil doesn’t always look like a monster in the movies, but sometimes hides in plain sight.
I later became a private investigator, working cases involving insurance fraud and workers’ compensation. During one assignment, I was asked to conduct surveillance on a known pedophile in a quiet, rural Iowa town.
That’s when everything shifted.
Midway through the investigation, I was confronted and threatened by a local sheriff. He strongly implied that if I didn’t drop the case, he would fabricate criminal charges against me. It was a warning wrapped in intimidation, and I took it seriously.
Shaken and disturbed, I told my boss the case had been compromised. I mentioned interference but didn’t include the full details in my final report. It gnawed at me for years.
It showed me how deeply this problem is buried and how power can be used to silence the truth. It also showed me that no one else would fight this fight for us. So I answered the call.

The Mission
The name IowaArk comes from the story of Noah—a man called by God to build an ark before the flood. In the same way, I felt God asking me to build something to protect the innocent from a rising tide of exploitation, trafficking, and silence.
At IowaArk, we are committed to:
- Raising awareness about child trafficking in Iowa—because it is happening here.
- Educating parents, communities, and professionals to spot the signs and take action.
- Standing with survivors and families, creating space for healing and advocacy.
- Partnering with investigators and local allies to expose and disrupt trafficking networks.
We are not afraid to speak the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable, especially when it’s uncomfortable.
